4 Simple Ways To Improve Productivity & Complete Hard Tasks

Eric Evenstad • June 20, 2018

As entrepreneurs, we are responsible for holding ourselves accountable. Unlike traditional employees, we don't have a boss breathing down our neck, making sure that we complete our work in a timely matter.

Instead, it's on us to stay disciplined. We must focus on the most important tasks and ignore the rest. If you're familiar with the 80/20 Rule (aka Pareto Principle), that means that we must pay especially close attention to completing the 20% of tasks that result in 80% of the desired outcome.

This can be a challenge, especially if you work from a home office like I do.

I can tell you that over the years, I've tried every tip, trick and hack for being more productive. A lot of different techniques have helped for a short amount of time... before eventually losing their effectiveness. BUT there are four specific techniques that have stood the test of time.

I now fall back on these four techniques whenever I start to feel procrastination creeping into my life. I explain the techniques in detail in the video, but here's a quick recap:

1) Use the Pomodoro Technique to work uninterrupted for short bursts.

2) Put on headphones and listen to Binaural Beats in order to improve focus and drown out outside noise.

3) Put your phone on airplane mode to eliminate distractions & work interruptions.

4) Turn off all notifications on your computer - no email notifications, Facebook alerts, Tweets or anything else.

If you do these four things, I believe you're going to greatly improve your productivity and you're going to accomplish the most important tasks - the tasks that actually grow your business and improve your life.

Here are the two links that I mention in the video:
