How To Stop Wasting Time On Distracting Websites

Eric Evenstad • July 31, 2018

Self discipline is one of the most important skills that entrepreneurs must possess. Unlike traditional employees, we don't have a boss breathing down our backs; making sure that we're focusing our time and energy on the right work.

But self discipline isn't always easy. In fact it can be a constant struggle for entrepreneurs. I know for me, I tend to mindlessly navigate to a couple of different time-wasting websites whenever I'm working on a task that takes a lot of brainpower.

I don't mean to do it. In fact, I don't even realize I've done it until 5-10 minutes after the fact. It's a total time waste.

To combat this habit of visiting distracting websites when I should be working on growing my business, I started using a free Chrome Extension called Stay Focused.

It's a simple tool but it's made a huge impact on my life and business.

Now, whenever I visit one of my distracting websites during work hours, I get redirected to a page that says, "Shouldn't you be working?"

It doesn't sound like much, but this is enough to snap me out of my mindless browsing and get me back to work.

The really cool thing about Stay Focused (besides the fact that it's free) is that you can customize it however you like. You can set your work days & hours, you can easily add your time-wasting websites to the Blocked List, and you can set daily time limits on your blocked websites (I show you how to do all of this in the video above).

Give it a shot. Download Stay Focused and save your self discipline for more important things.
